Terms of service

Last updated: April 12, 2026

DoseAlert is not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult your healthcare provider regarding your medications.

Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using DoseAlert, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Description of service

DoseAlert is a medication reminder and tracking application. It helps you remember when to take your medications by sending local notifications on your device. The app allows you to log doses, track adherence history, manage medication schedules, scan prescription labels, manage family profiles, and export reports. All data is stored locally on your device.

Medical disclaimer

DoseAlert is a reminder tool only. It is not a medical device, is not regulated by Health Canada, the FDA, or any equivalent regulatory body, and does not provide any form of medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The app does not verify the accuracy of medication information you enter or that is extracted from prescription label scans. It does not check for drug interactions, contraindications, allergies, or appropriate dosages. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all medication information in the app.

Never rely solely on DoseAlert for critical medication management. DoseAlert is intended to supplement, not replace, your relationship with your healthcare provider. Always follow the instructions provided by your doctor, pharmacist, or other qualified health professional.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately. Do not rely on DoseAlert in an emergency situation.

Notification reliability

DoseAlert makes every reasonable effort to deliver medication reminders on time. However, notification delivery depends on your device's operating system, battery optimization settings, available memory, and other factors outside our control. We cannot guarantee that every notification will be delivered at the exact scheduled time.

Certain device manufacturers (Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, and others) apply aggressive battery optimization that may prevent notifications from being delivered when the app is in the background. DoseAlert provides in-app guidance on how to configure your device settings, but cannot override operating system restrictions.

You should not rely exclusively on DoseAlert notifications for life-critical medications. Maintain backup reminder methods (physical pill organizers, alarm clocks, caregiver check-ins) for medications where a missed dose could cause serious harm.

Purchases and pricing

DoseAlert offers a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. After the trial period, a one-time purchase of $9.99 CAD (or equivalent in your local currency) is required to continue using the app's full functionality.

All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Pricing may vary by region due to currency conversion and local tax requirements. DoseAlert does not process payments directly.

This is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. You will not be charged again after your initial purchase. If you change devices, you can restore your purchase at no additional cost using the "Restore Purchases" feature in the app.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies. DoseAlert does not process refunds directly. To request a refund, contact Apple App Store Support or Google Play Support.

Your data

All data you enter into DoseAlert is stored locally on your device. DoseAlert does not collect, transmit, or share your personal information. For complete details, see our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for backing up your data. You can export your data as a file at any time using the backup feature in Settings. If you delete the app or lose your device without having exported a backup, your data cannot be recovered.
