Different doses at different times

If your prescription says "2 in the morning, 1 at bedtime", you don't have to add the medication twice. DoseAlert lets you set a different dose for each scheduled time.

When to use it

Some prescriptions say things like:

Instead of creating two separate medications, use the Per-time dosing option on a single medication.

How to set it up

  1. Add or edit a medication.
  2. Pick the Fixed times schedule and add the times (e.g. 8 AM, 8 PM).
  3. In the Dose section, turn on Different dose at each time.
  4. Enter the dose for each time. Example: 8 AM → 2 tablets, 8 PM → 1 tablet.
  5. Save.

The Today view shows the right dose for whichever slot is coming up, and each reminder names the correct amount.

Inventory

When you tap Taken, DoseAlert deducts the dose for that specific slot from your inventory. If the morning slot is 2 tablets and you log it, the count goes down by 2. If the evening slot is 1 tablet and you log that, the count goes down by 1. The refill reminder threshold still works normally.

Reports

Your CSV and PDF exports include the actual dose amount recorded for each log, so a doctor reviewing the report can see the morning dose and bedtime dose as separate rows with their correct amounts.
