The Pill Tracker (calendar)
The Pill Tracker shows a calendar of every day's medication history — what you took, what you skipped, and what you missed.
The calendar grid
Each square in the calendar is one day. The colour tells you how that day went:
| Green | You took every scheduled dose that day. |
|---|---|
| Amber | You took some doses but missed or skipped others. |
| Red | Day has passed and you took nothing, or missed everything. |
| Grey | No medications scheduled, or the day is in the future. |
Today is highlighted with a mint border. The header at the top of the screen shows the month totals at a glance.
Flip through months
Tap the arrows at the top of the calendar to move to the previous or next month. DoseAlert saves history as far back as you've been using the app, so you can scroll back months or years.
Tap a day for the details
Tap any square to open that day's detail view. It splits into two sections:
- Logged — every dose you took, skipped, or marked Not sure, in the order the events happened. Each entry shows the time and the medication name.
- Scheduled — doses that were scheduled for that day but not yet acted on. For past days, these count as missed.
Grouped medications appear as collapsible group cards; solo medications as individual cards.
Mark a missed dose as taken after the fact
If you forgot to log a dose earlier in the day (or week) and want to record it now, tap Taken on the scheduled card in the day view. A small dialog asks "When was it taken?" with a time picker — set the actual time you took it and tap Taken to record it at that time, not now.
The same works for Skip.
Remove a mistaken entry
If you marked something as taken by accident, tap the logged entry in the day view and confirm Remove. The dose goes back into the Scheduled list so you can mark it correctly, and (if it was a taken dose that deducted from your inventory) the pill count goes back up by that amount.
See Fixing mistaken entries for more.
Marking future doses
You can tap forward into future days and mark doses as taken — useful if you take a dose early. DoseAlert asks you to confirm first ("This is for a future date"), and gives you a Return to today option so you don't end up logging the wrong day.
Export a report
In the top-right corner of the Pill Tracker screen, tap the Export icon to save:
- PDF report — a printable summary suitable for giving to your doctor or pharmacist. Includes every medication and your dose history for a chosen period.
- CSV spreadsheet — opens in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets. Best if you want to analyse your adherence data.
See Backup and exports for details.
