Tutorial — Set quiet hours

Quiet hours keep reminders visible but silent during the window you pick — perfect for overnight.

The goal

Say you want reminders to go silent between 10 PM and 7 AM, but still keep critical medications loud.

Step 1 — Open Quiet hours settings

Go to Settings > Quiet hours.

Step 2 — Set the start

Tap the Start button. A time picker opens. Set it to 10:00 PM.

Step 3 — Set the end

Tap the End button. Set it to 7:00 AM.

DoseAlert understands the window wraps around midnight, so "10 PM to 7 AM" is treated correctly.

Step 4 — Leave the "critical meds always fire" toggle ON

This is the default. Heart, seizure, and other critical-priority medications stay loud even during quiet hours.

Step 5 — Test

To confirm quiet hours are working, edit a non-critical medication's next dose to be in the middle of your quiet window (e.g. 2 AM). Lock your phone and wait. You should see the notification arrive silently, without sound or vibration.

After the test, change the medication back to its normal time.

Tweaking it

If the reminders still feel too intrusive at night, make sure the medications are not marked Critical priority. If they are critical but you want them silent anyway, turn off the Critical meds always fire toggle.

Turning it off

Open Settings > Quiet hours and tap Disable quiet hours at the bottom.
