Settings overview
Settings is where you configure the look of the app, the reminder behaviour, data backups, and more.
Appearance
Theme — Match system, Light, or Dark. Match system follows whatever your phone is set to and is the default.
Quiet hours
A time window (e.g. 10 PM – 7 AM) when non-critical reminders fire silently. See Quiet hours.
Privacy
App lock — require Face ID, Touch ID, or your phone passcode to open DoseAlert. See App lock and privacy.
Accessibility
- High contrast — stronger borders and higher-contrast text for easier reading.
- Open app settings — deep-link to the iOS or Android accessibility settings where you can turn on VoiceOver, TalkBack, larger text, bold text, and so on.

Sounds
Preview each of the four reminder sound styles (Quiet, Vibrate only, Reminder with sound, Dose alarm). Tap any style to schedule a test reminder 5 seconds out so you can lock your phone and hear it.
Reminder reliability
A "fix missed reminders" walkthrough with step-by-step instructions for Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, and iPhone. Tap the card to open the reliability help screen. Start here if reminders ever stop firing.
Reminder history
A log of the last 100 reminders and caregiver alerts. See when each one fired and what it said. Useful for confirming a reminder actually went out. See Reminder history.
Medications
- My medications — the same list you see in the Meds tab.
- Medication groups — create and manage groups.
Purchase
- Shows your trial status (days remaining) or DoseAlert Lifetime is unlocked.
- Restore purchases — re-confirm a purchase on a new phone or after reinstall.
- Redeem a code — enter a promo code.
Backup & export
- Back up data — save a backup file of your whole DoseAlert database.
- Export medication list — CSV spreadsheet of every medication.
- Export dose history — CSV spreadsheet of every dose taken, skipped, or missed.
